Fulbright Scholar Award in the Study of Religions
It is now possible to apply for the Fulbright Scholar position at the School of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Tartu, Estonia. The suitable candidate is a U. S. citizen who has a PhD degree and has specialized in the study of religion. The grant will cover living, travel and relocation costs as well as offer a small book and research allowance. The duration of the grant is 9 months and the grant period will commence in September 2022.
Application deadline is September 15, 2021.
In the School, the study of religion is currently primarily focused on the study of religion and politics, contemporary religious change (including secularization and non-religion), Ancient Near East religion, Islamic and Jewish studies, religious education and method & theory in the study of religion. The grantee is welcome to participate in the activities of any of these fields or contribute to the fields that are currently underrepresented in the School.
The grantee is expected to participate in the research and teaching activities of the institute. This includes introducing one’s research in public lectures during one’s stay in Tartu, participating in relevant research related academic activities and teaching one course per semester that is related to the grantee’s own research focus (or alternatively, participating in the teaching of courses primarily taught by other faculty members). The grantee is also encouraged to share one’s experience concerning curriculum development, teaching and research practices.
